Leakage management has developed very rapidly as a specialist topic over the last 20 years, yet many practitioners still have considerable difficulty accessing up-to-date information on the latest practical concepts that underpin successful international leakage management strategies. Our two small companies, and some of our clients and colleagues, strongly believe in wide dissemination and sharing knowledge and experiences in leakage management among all, including those who have high motivation but low financial resources to implement best strategies to manage leakage.

Disillusioned at the increasingly stringent copyright conditions imposed by publishing companies and conference organisers, which seem designed to maximise their income rather than to disseminate information, we decided to develop the LEAKSSuite website as a free information resource for all of our papers and research. We hope it will be something special; a ‘leakage Wikipedia’ where we can freely share our knowledge with others, and where many can go to think, pick up ideas, collaborate, and learn. We believe that the several thousand users from more than 100 countries is a testament to the global need for more free information and better informed leakage management strategies, and the skills of our website manager Barry in organising our material accessibly.

Obviously, there is an annual cost involved in running the website, which grows with its popularity, and some of our colleagues who share our views on wide dissemination of knowledge and current best practice have kindly agreed to sponsor part of the running costs.

LeaksSuite Website Approach

The LeaksSuite website is written by us using current issue industry standard open source WordPress software and appropriate plug-in and back-up applications and themes; as such it is robust and independent to our best endeavours. The site adopts Google Analytics (GA) to monitor search engine results pages (SERPS) and to track other anonymous user parameters in an effort to maintain currency of content and focus on our mission through consistent and appropriate inclusion and site navigation. GA filters are applied to reduce referral and other spam and this apparent traffic reduction is reflected in the statistics quoted. Search engine optimisation (SEO) follows “white hat” content driven best practice without any attempt to apply black-hat techniques. As such the page rank and authority of the site are derived purely by and are dependent upon substantial verified industry leading content and references. It is our intention to continuously enliven the site with new content and innovation.
